Letter: Be informed about vaccine exemptions

Last year, the governor attempted to mandate the full vaccine schedule for all children attending any school in Hawaii, while eliminating religious exemptions. This alarmed many families who value informed consent, medical privacy and the fundamental right of parents to make decisions for their children. Regardless of one’s views on vaccines, government should not override parental authority or erase religious freedom.
