Rather than treating trails as liabilities, the state should view them as an opportunity. Oahu could pilot a unified coastal pathway, similar to Spain’s Camino de Santiago or South Korea’s Jeju Olle-gil, that connects existing trails under a centralized management system focused on safety, access and preservation.
