Letter: HMSA-HPH plan is ominously vague

Anyone else concerned about the proposed vertically integrated merger between Hawaii’s dominant health insurer, HMSA, and one of our two major health care systems, Hawaii Pacific Health? This idea is long on hyperbole and short on substance. It threatens to create a powerful monopoly, which typically leads to higher health care costs, reduced patient choice and financial pressure on physicians.
