Circle the wagons, boys! Why did it take an outsider, retired federal public defender Alexander Silvert, to get state government to finally look into that “mysterious” influential legislator who might have been involved in a $35,000 paper bag bribe? Perhaps our leaders were following that time-honored principle, “Let he who is without guilt cast the first stone,” or its corollary, “Maybe I’ll wind up being investigated, too.”
