Letter: Much more important business than lei making

Are the 11 state representatives who sponsored House Bill 2194 so out of touch with reality that they introduced legislation about lei making requirements and lei materials labeling? The state of Hawaii has so many major pressing issues with the federal budget cuts, homelessness, repairing the convention center roof, new Aloha Stadium, lack of support for farmers, invasive species, slumping tourism, academic scores for public school students, public corruption, overpopulation of feral chickens and cats, and the long list goes on.
