Letter: Obnoxious exhaust notes mar beautiful Honolulu

I am visiting Oahu and, for the most part, am enjoying my stay. Honolulu’s tree-lined streets are beautiful and the city is very clean. I am staying in Waikiki and the one thing that has distracted from a perfect vacation are the noisy vehicles. By my estimation they make up less than 5% of the traffic, but make 95% of the noise. Getting these vehicles off the street would improve the ambiance 1,000%. How do the residents put up this?
