Letter: Peace Corps aids Nepal now, others in future

I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal (2024-2025) and want to add some perspective about the recent disaster. Thankfully, all Peace Corps volunteers in Nepal (more than 120) were accounted for within 24 hours, but thousands of people in the country remain missing. Given Nepal’s history of earthquakes, their rescue teams are among the best in the world. Nepal contributes little to the warming climate, but they now endure the consequences.
