Hawaii’s tourism industry is among the topics being addressed by Hawaii officials on a trip to Taiwan.
Lieutenant Governor Brian Schatz is leading a group of Hawaii senators and representatives in the region.
Monday they met with Taiwan’s president to discuss efforts to make Taiwan a visa waiver country by the end of this year.
Hawaii officials say that will help our tourism industry. Also Monday, Schatz signed a memorandum of understanding with Taichung city’s mayor to establish a collaboration on clean energy.
