A 26 year-old man is in police custody after he used another man’s receipt to get a vacuum cleaner.
It happened Friday at the home depot in Pearl City.
Police said a man went into the store, bought a vacuum cleaner, then went out and gave the alleged thief the receipt.
The suspect then went in and tried to walk out the store with the vacuum, but a security guard saw what happened.
The man was arrested for second-degree theft.
The other man who initially went into the store was not arrested.
