A 30-year-old man is facing a burglary charge in connection with a violent case in Kalihi.
Police say a resident awoke Sunday at about 4:30 a.m. and saw a stranger kneeling down on his girlfriend’s side of the the bed.
When the resident confronted the man, the suspect allegedly punched him in the face and attempted to run.
The victim and other residents detained the suspect until police arrived.
He was arrested for burglary but has yet to be charged.
