Police are looking for the driver suspected of a hit and run on Mamalahoa Highway in Kealakekua on the Big Island.
The incident happened just after 1 a.m. Thursday.
Police say a man was hit by an unknown vehicle. He later died.
The road was closed for a few hours, but is now open.
Police have opened a negligent homicide investigation.
