A man is fighting for his life after being struck by a car in Nanakuli.
It happened at about 10 p.m. Saturday night near the intersection of Farrington Highway and Lualualei Naval Road.
According to police, the man was not in a crosswalk when he started walking across Farrington Highway.
Police say the man was struck when he walked into the path of a vehicle heading east on the highway.
He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition. The driver of the car, a woman from Waianae, was not hurt.
Police say speed, alcohol and drugs to not appear to be factors on the part of the vehicle.
It is unknown if the man was impaired.
