Firefighters were called to a home of Hulupala Place in Kaneohe around 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon after callers reported a man had fallen into a cesspool.
According to fire officials, the man in his 50′s was pumping out a cesspool when the cesspool cap he was standing on collapsed.
The man fell about 15 feet, with his leg becoming trapped in the rubble from the cap.
Firefighters were able to get the man out safely using ropes and pulleys and a harness. The man denied any medical treatment and was otherwise unharmed.
