It happened on Kaahumanu Avenue at the intersection of Puunene Avenue in Kahului.
A four door station wagon and motorcycle were involved in the crash.
Police say the station wagon entered the intersection and collided with the motorcycle.
The car was being driven by a 62-year-old man of Haiku and the motorcycle was being operated by a 48-year-old Wailuku man.
The 48-year-old was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center then transferred to the Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu and is still in critical condition.
Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the station wagon was wearing his seatbelt.
Speed, drugs and alcohol are being investigated as possible factors in this crash.
