A candlelight memorial service was held for Officer Garret Davis Saturday night, who was killed on the H-1 Freeway in Aiea last Saturday.
Around 8 p.m. last Saturday, Officer Davis pulled up behind a stalled vehicle in the left lane to help the motorists, when a truck hit Davis’ squad car.
"If only I knew that was going to be the last day, I would do anything for just one second to hold on, but unfortunately that’s not the case and now he’s an angel and he’s here with me," said Officer Davis’ girlfriend, Vianca Plleitez.
"I know he’s smiling upon us with a big smile on his face, that he’s ok (and) that he’s in a better place."
Officer Garret Davis leaves behind a four-year-old daughter and his mother.
His funeral will take place in Northern California next month, where Davis was originally from.
