Memorial services set for Officer Garret Davis

The memorial service for Honolulu Police Officer Garret Davis will take place Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Borthwick Mortuary located at 1330 Maunakea Street.  Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with services at 1 p.m.

Motorists are advised that Maunakea Street will be closed from Kukui Street to Vineyard Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  During this time there will be no street parking on the following streets:
- Kukui Street from Nuuanu Avenue to Aala Street.
- River Street from Vineyard Blvd to Kukui Street.
- Nuuanu Avenue from Vineyard Blvd to Kukui Street.

On the following day, Wednesday, February 8, a final salute to Officer Davis will be held at Alapai headquarters located at 801 South Beretania Street.  The funeral motorcade will depart Borthwick Mortuary at 12:45 p.m. and arrive in front of the station shortly before 1 p.m.  At the HPD headquarters there will be a three-round volley (21-gun salute), the playing of “Taps,” and a flower drop from the police helicopter.

On Wednesday there will be rolling road closures starting from Borthwick Mortuary at
12:45 p.m. as the motorcade makes its way to Alapai headquarters.  Beretania Street between Ward Avenue and Alapai Streets will be closed from approximately 12:55 to 1:10 p.m. 

Drivers are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes where possible.  The Honolulu Police Department thanks the public for its patience and cooperation.
