A car hit a utility pole shortly after 11:30 Monday night. Traffic is being rerouted on University Avenue near Maile Way.
Officials say the pole was on the verge of falling and needed to be replaced. HECO says they expect the road to be closed till around noon.
About 200 HECO customers are currently without power.
