Midway is famous for its bird population according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. There are twenty-one species of seabirds commonly seen at Midway atoll and it is home to the largest albatross colony in the world. Midway atoll is made up of three islands; Sand, Eastern and Spit.There are nearly two million nesting seabirds at this National Wildlife Refuge.
