Mother calls child’s abductor "boogey man"

An Ewa Beach man who took a four-year-old girl from the backyard of her home will spend two more weeks in jail.

Ian Coen was found guilty of unlawful imprisonment when he took the girl from her home without permission back on April 25, 2011.

The girl’s father and family friends found her in a nearby convenience store with Coen.

At Wednesday’s sentencing, the victim’s mother got to address Coen.

"I want you to look in the mirror because you are my family’s boogey man. You’re not make believe," said Marla Perkins, who says her family is still reeling from the abduction.

Unlawful imprisonment is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in prison.

Coen has already been behind bars for 50 weeks, so he told the court he will spend another two weeks in jail as part of his sentence.

He was also fined $1,000.
