Motorcyclist injured in hit and run accident

Honolulu police are searching for another hit and run driver.

A motorcyclist was hit Thursday morning at about 10:30 a.m. at the busy intersection of Kapiolani Boulevard and Keeaumoku Street.

A witness watched the crash unfold.

“One truck jumped out to beat traffic coming eastbound,” said witness Andy Kress.  “There’s no left turn signal so the green truck made it safety and a black Nissan or Mazda right behind him pulled out right in front of this guy on the motorcycle.  The guy had no time to stop he was going about 15 miles an hour and he broadsided just t-boned this Nissan,” said Kress.

“The vehicle stopped initially and then started slowly taking off and then split around the corner,” he said.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Bystanders took down the vehicle’s license plate and reported it to authorities.

Police are also still searching for the driver in Monday’s deadly hit and run accident that killed an 86-year-old Waipahu man.
