Navy: Crashed jet experienced ‘catastrophic’ malfunction

The F-18 fighter jet crashed Friday in Virginia Beach after experiencing a “catastrophic mechanical malfunction” shortly after take off, Navy Capt. Mark Weisgerber told reporters on Friday.
