Nearly half of the nation live in a household that receive a government check

More than one in three americans are living in households that receive government assistance like food stamps and medicaid.

That’s according to a new report done by the Mercatus Center at George Washington University.

When social security, medicare and unemployment benefits are included, nearly half of the nation live in a household that receive a government check.

That’s more than 148 million americans.
