Folks on the neighbor islands will get a chance to pay their respects to Senator Inouye this week.
Hawaii county will hold a memorial service on Thursday from noon till 2:30 p.m. at the Afook-Chinen Hilo Civic Auditorium.
Then on Friday, services will be held on Kauai at the War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihue. Public viewing is set for 4 p.m,. followed by the service at 5.
"I know his parents originated from Kauai so it’s a special ties on Kauai. So we plan to make it a very beautiful service Kauai style," said Kauai Mayor Bernard Carvalho.
The memorial service on Maui is still being planned.
