New headstone unveiled for Korean War Vet

A new headstone was unveiled today for a Korean war vet.

Not because the old one was damaged.. but because Army Private first class Anthony Kaho’ohanohano was awarded the Congressional medal.

He was initially awarded the Navy distinguished service cross for manning a machine gun and allowing his comrades to withdraw.

Kaho’ohanohano died at his post.

His heroic effort was recognized with the medal of honor last may after new information came out about his actions the day.

"This is not for us.. this is Anthony.. Anthony’s job.. Anthony’s recognition. After 6 decades plus.. It’s well worth the wait to get it done," says George Kaho’ohanohano, nephew.

Kaho’ohanohano is the third medal of honor recipient from Maui.
