A researcher at UH-Manoa has been immortalized.
A new mineral now called "Krotite" has been named after Dr. Alexander Krot.
Krotite is the dominant mineral in some of the first solid materials formed in our solar system.
Better understanding it will help scientists piece together how our solar system was created.
