An East Oahu couple didn’t expect a trip for take-out to end up like this their vehicle crashing on its side after being hit by another car in Kahala.
It happened around 6 p.m Monday evening near the intersection of Pahoa and 22nd Avenues.
"Next thing I know I am hanging by my seat belt and people were yanking out my windshield," said the driver. "Like in seconds, all I saw was a flash from the corner of my eye and next thing I know "poom", a huge explosion and we were rolling, I was looking at the sky and the trees and the homes."
No one was injured.
The crash damaged a utility pole, so some lanes of Pahoa Avenue are closed to repair it.
