This is the first family’s second day in the islands.
After attending Senator Inouye’s memorial service Sunday morning, the president and the first lady visited the grave of the president’s grandfather, Stanley Dunham.
After that they made a brief stop in Kailua to pick up their children before heading out for a hike at Maunawili.
One Kailua-bound lane of the Pali Highway was closed while the family was on the hiking trail.
