Off the news: Lost ambulance leads to miracle rescue

Honolulu’s Department of Emergency Services didn’t technically “lose” its ambulance to North Shore flooding on March 19: The medical transport vehicle was still on Kamehameha Highway after waters receded. It may be “a total loss,” as director Jim Ireland speculated — but the rescue it precipitated is “a miracle.”
