Off the news: Plenty of Hawaii jobs, not many job seekers

Hawaii is tied with South Dakota for the lowest unemployment rate in the nation: 2.2%. Pair that with a good number of job vacancies and it adds up to a decent outlook for job-seekers — at least those on the entry-level rung for retail and food-service work, with many employers offering wages higher than the state’s minimum just to attract applicants.
