Off the news: UH backs down on free expression policy

An “interim free expression policy” for the University of Hawaii that tightened restrictions on campus was withdrawn by University of Hawaii President Wendy Hensel on Wednesday. Good. That came a day after the American Civil Liberties Union of Hawai‘i announced that it had urged Hensel and UH by letter “to protect students’ rights to free speech, peaceful assembly, and protest.”
