The Green Bay Packers are going Green with their ground game.
They made former University of Hawaii running back Alex Green their third-round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft. Green averaged an NCAA-best 8.1 yards per carry last season for the Warriors.
Green had been projected as a late-round selection, so his selection might signal concern among the Packers in the health of veteran running back Ryan Grant. He suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the 2010 season-opener against Philadelphia and Green Bay‘s ground game struggled at times until the late-season emergence of James Starks.
