Police searching for man accused of beating tourist

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public’s help in locating a man accused of beating a tourist in Waikiki in June.

It happened on June 17, 2011 around 1 a.m.

The victim and several friends were standing on the beach fronting the Outrigger Hotel when an unknown man approached them.

Police say the man offered to sell the group some drugs and became angry when they refused.

The man allegedly struck the victim several times causing a fractured skull and bleeding in his brain.

The victim has since returned to California.

The suspect is between 18 and 20 years old, 5’7" to 6’1" and 140 to 175 pounds.

He has a goatee and a mustache and has white gauges in both ears.
