Power has been restored to all but around 50 customers after a fallen tree knocked out power to about 2,000 customers in Kaneohe, Hawaiian Electric officials say.
Officials say the power was restored to most customers at about 3 p.m., and that the original power outage was reported at about 1:45 p.m.
Approximately fifty customers are still without power and will likely not have any until later tonight, when crews are expected to have fully replaced a damaged pole.
The power outage also knocked out power to Windward Mall, causing the mall to close for about an hour. Mall officials say it was reopened at approximately 3 p.m.
Keaahala Road, near Kamau Place, is currently closed in both directions to allow for crews to replace the damaged pole.
