Power for more than 1,600 customers in the Windward area has been restored.
Hawaiian Electric Co. spokesman Peter Rosegg said the power went out around 7:35 Friday morning on Palawiki Street in Kailua after an insulator broke.
The power was restored within an hour around 8:32 a.m.
