The group is part of the Kahuku Plantation Residents Association.
They say a skull was found during a construction project at the former Kahuku plantation camps, and it was placed in storage, and not given the proper burial.
Now they’re calling for the construction work to stop.
"We want the linear descendants, and cultural descendants, to and the Koolauloa Hawaiian Civic Club to be consulted," said Margaret Primacio, Kahuku Plantation Residents Association. "We want the construction in the area stopped until a archeological inventory survey is done."
A spokesperson for the Department of Land and Natural resources said the iwi had initially been covered up, but someone disturbed them so they were put in the storage container for safety.
