Red Cross urges families to be safe during National Fire Prevention week

This week is National Fire Prevention week.

The Red Cross is trying to help get the word out on how you can best protect your family.

They say more than 80% of the incidents they respond to in Hawaii are multi-family house fires.

The agency recommends that you install a sprinkler system and practice a fire escape plan with your family.

The Red Cross also suggests you download the American Red Cross first aid app to get tips on what to do in the event that someone is injured.
