Maui fire department rescued a 78 year old man that slid approximately 15 feet down an embankment and ended up next to the stream in Iao Valley on Monday.
It happened at 11:11 a.m.
non life threatening injuries to his head and hip. Rescue personnel hiked 10 minutes into the trail and met up with the victim. They stabilized him onto a backboard and carried him out. He was transported by paramedics to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
