Rescue teams airlift injured teen off Koko Head trail

Honolulu Fire officials say a teenage boy suffered possible head and arm injuries after falling down the Koko Head trail in East Oahu.

It happened just after 9 a.m. Sunday.

Officials say the boy was hiking down the trail near the bridge when he tripped and fell.

Rescue teams were able to reach the injured boy via helicopter, where they airlifted him off the trail to a park below.  He was then transported by ambulance to a hospital. 

His condition is unknown at this time.
