Retired HPD major faces more legal trouble

A retired Honolulu police major accused of drug and corruption charges is facing more legal trouble.

Carlton Nishimura now faces a tax evasion charge.

According to court documents, Nishimura filed a false tax form in 2005 claiming he made less than what he was being paid.

Last February, Nishimura was indicted on federal charges of extortion for allegedly giving inside information to the operator of an illegal gambling room, in exchange for money.

The drug charges stem from a raid of his Waianae home where authorities found crystal meth.
