Revamped HPD website embraces new media

New and improved, the Honolulu Police Department has revamped its website to make it more user friendly.

The website now features a standardized format with easy to use tabs to search for alerts and wanted suspects.

HPD credits the site with helping lead to the arrest of three people who were featured this month.

The site also has videos of different divisions in the department, like SWAT.

"Now if you look at this it’s a little bit more streamlined, more inviting.  Now what we provide is the information that the public wants to know," says HPD Chief Louis Kealoha.

The site also provides information on registering firearms, crime stats and community policing events.
Posts to the website will also be linked on HPD’s Facebook page.
