Salt Lake Boulevard is closed from Kamehameha Highway to Kalaloa Street after multiple utility poles fell down in Halawa.
According to officials, the incident happened just before 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
At this time, Honolulu police say the cause seems to be fallen branches that have landed on the utility poles.
Initially, 400 customers were without power.
Hawaiian Electric Company says power has since been restored to almost all residential and commercial customers.
Crews are working to replace the down utility poles. At this time, it is unknown how long repairs will take.
Police are rerouting traffic in the area.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
