A memorial scholarship has been set up at Hawaii Pacific University for a student and U.S. Navy Command Master Chief who died earlier this year in a crash on Oahu.
The David Tyner Memorial scholarship will give $2500 dollars to a qualifying student pursuing a graduate degree in diplomacy and military studies.
Tyner was two classes short of graduating when he was killed.
The Waipahu resident served 29 years in the Navy and retired in 2007.
