Repair, maintenance and new construction at educational facilities account for about 40 percent of the $48.9 million Gov. Neil Abercrombie released Thursday.
The construction intended to continue the economic momentum achieved since last year, the governor said in a press release. The selected projects are intended to create jobs and benefit communities.
Educational facilities will receive the largest chunk of funding, with $15 million designated for high school science facilities from Keaau to Kau on the Big Island and $1 million for the design of a new library in Nanakuli.
Another $13 million will go to toward the design of a consolidated rental car facility at the Honolulu International Airport.
