On Kauai the search for a missing swimmer has been called off.
The four-day quest for Kilauea resident Scott Akina ended at about noon Saturday with no luck.
Crews from the Kauai fire and police department, as well as the Coast Guard and other agencies have been looking since Tuesday after Akina went for a swim at Ninini beach and didn’t return.
The search covered more than 6,200 square miles.
