More than a week after the Honolulu Zoo was vandalized, the second of three escaped birds has returned home.
The bird, a buff-headed ground dove, was found about 500 feet from his cage.
Zoo officials said workers had been monitoring it for a few days. They managed to call it home Thursday.
Last week hikers brought back an exotic parrot that had been hanging out on Diamond Head Trail.
The third bird, a Tawny Frogmouth, is still missing. If you’ve seen the owl look-alike, call the zoo at 971-7174.
