U.S.Democratic senate candidate Ed Case is challenging his opponent Mazie Hirono to a debate.
Case said in an email addressed to Hirono, "(Friday) the Oahu Democrats chair told us that our scheduled May 24th joint discussion was being postponed indefinitely. Let’s debate Thursday evening anyway."
A spokesperson for Hirono’s campaign responded saying, "The chair of the Oahu county democrats requested additional time to work out logistical issues regarding the debate, and we have agreed to participate when these issues are resolved."
Case and Hirono are running for the seat being vacated by Sen. Daniel Akaka.
