U.S. Marine Corps say the collision between a "Super Cobra" and a "Huey" aircraft happened during a training operation in a remote area of the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Arizona on Wednesday.
An official said they were training in an area that mimics the terrain of Afghanistan for life-like preparations when the collision occurred.
Authorities are not releasing the names of the Marines killed until families are notified.
