Severe drought is causing the Maui Department of Water to change water service in upper Kula .
The department will begin pumping water into the area from other parts of the island starting next Wednesday.
That may result in a change in water quality.
But the department says the water still meets quality standards.
Until water wells replenish, customers in the upper Kula area are urged to conserve water.
