KULA, Hawaii (AP) – Maui police say a skull found by hunters is more than 50 years old and will not require a criminal investigation.
The skull was found Saturday in Kula and turned over to detectives.
On Thursday, the medical examiner determined the deteriorated skull is more than 50 years old. It’s believed to belong to a child or teenager.
The skull will be turned over to the state Department of Land and Natural Resources for internment.
