The State Department of Land and Natural Resources, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will hold a joint-press conference Friday afternoon to discuss the finding of another confirmed piece of tsunami debris from the 2011 Japan tsunami.
According to the DLNR, the debris is a skiff, or small boat. In September, a blue bin found floating off Oahu was confirmed as the first piece of tsunami debris to arrive in Hawaii from Japan.
The DLNR is asking anyone who believes they may have come across a piece of tsunami debris to call the DLNR to make a report. They also urge the public to stay away from the suspected debris and to not touch it.
We’ll have more from the press conference on the KHON2 News at 5 & 6 and KHON2.com.
